Norbert Thurner is the founder of VAS AG, our Presenting Partner this Season 3. His plan is to enter the Vienna MTF of the Vienna Stock Exchange with the Salzburg-based company, which specializes in environmentally friendly generation of heat and electric power from biomass and regional waste. We chat about the roots of the company, the derivation of the company name VAS, trophy cases like British Sky Broadcasting, Heathrow Airport or implementations in Swiss cantons. By the way: The headquarters of the company, which was founded in the late 80s and has solid balance sheets, is in Salzburg Wals in the almost immediate vicinity of the Red Bull Arena. For me, every new listed company is like a TV series: this is virtually the pilot episode, in which I was able to learn a lot of knowledge about clean energy, thermal oil, hot gas, steam, biomass and special operating equipment.
